What is Konnect?
Konnect is UnderKurrent's voice and text chat platform, powered by Matrix and Element. It lets you have real conversations with other members — not just text comments, but actual voice discussions about the topics that matter.
How to Access Konnect
On Desktop (Web Browser)
Click "Open Element" on the Kommunity Activity page, or navigate directly to konnect.theunderkurrent.com. Sign in with your UnderKurrent credentials via Single Sign-On (SSO).
On Mobile (Element X App)
- Download Element X from the App Store or Google Play
- Go to the Kommunity Activity page on your phone
- Tap "Get Mobile Login" in the Konnect Rooms section
- Copy the generated username and password
- Open Element X, enter

Public Rooms (All Members)

Video calls are currently disabled to conserve server resources. Konnect supports voice and text chat only.

Can I use Konnect without registering?
You need an UnderKurrent account to access Konnect. Your Matrix account is automatically created when you first sign in via SSO.
Do I need to download an app?
On desktop, no — use the web browser at konnect.theunderkurrent.com. On mobile, download Element X from the App Store or Google Play.
Why can't I join a voice room?
Voice rooms require minimum karma or a Rekurrent subscription. Check the room requirements above. You can earn karma by posting, commenting, and receiving upvotes.
What is kurrency and how do I earn it?

Can I change my username in Konnect?
Your Konnect username matches your UnderKurrent username. To change it, update your profile on UnderKurrent — the change will sync to Konnect within 24 hours.
