Link ShareElon's 2026 Midterm Gambit/Stratagems is a Repeat of his Involvement in Election Interference in 2024 Presidential Elections and Its Relation to the 2020 Election
While I already knew the answer to these questions, I went ahead and asked AI anyway if it was illegal and what the crime would be classified as - in terms of Elon Musk's attempts to "help swing state voters register", only for Elon's PAC to ultimately collect/exfiltrate their PII and falsely advertise by failing to follow-through on their commitments. When you combine this with StarLink's most recent efforts to hamstring Ukraine's drones by throttling bandwidth (forcing the drones to fly slower - where they are susceptible to be intercepted - and shot out of the air - before reaching designated target). His involvement has comprised a combination of his PAC donating $366M to the Republican Gubernatorial Races (attempts to ensure Republicans maintain control over the House and Senate - hence no checks and balances), and interfering with Ukraine's attempts to siege the Yanded data centers (to bring the Russian disinformation bot-farm social media influencers and divisors offline - since then many have come back online). Additionally, last year, Elon through DOGE's aligned goals with the Trump-regime's to eliminate "waste, fraud, and abuse" - ultimately and illegally as a Trump appointed agent, conned a group of 20-something tech bros, to illegally exfiltrate likely a list of all IRS tax-paying Americans - something I personally believe became the basis of Trump's SAVE Act voter rolls they tried to force to implement on the level of USPS, but now are enforcing for any willing/participating states (especially red states), and intimidating elections workers in blue/swing states - if they fail to implement this illegal EO, which ultimately never passed congress due to the dissent of a Trump-ousted Republican.
On top of this, the rogue and Trump-controlled/hijacked-DOJ, illegally obtained voter rolls from at least 4/5 states to start (with the one failed attempt being Minnesota where the Trump-regime unleashed ICE blackmailed Minnesota by stating they would not call back the attacks of ICE on their citizens unless they capitulated and gave up their voter rolls - they refused).
First the Trump-regime began on July 17th 2026, with Trump's speech on foreign interference on elections. Notably absent was Russia (which our own independent DOJ at the time, back in 2016, had determined Russia was the main player and it was tied to the Cambridge Analytica incident). Since then FB/Meta officially ended their third-party/independent community fact-checking notes on January 7, 2025 - just before Trump entered for his second-term. I would like to remind everyone that Trump's incitement of violent and coup attempts to interfere with the certification process by incensing a mob and calling the Proud Boy (back in from when he instructed them in Oct of 2020 - to "stand back, and stand by"; of course ultimately to pardon all 1,600 of them, conflate them as victims instead of the perpetrator and insurrectionists they were, and finally reward them with the $1.776B slush fund that Blanche says is dead - but I am confident proceeded through without congress - all the same). Additionally on Jan 6th 2021, Trump engaged in a false slate of electors scheme (which Rudi Guilani was the brainchild of), blackmailed both Zelensky and Georgia Secretary Brad Raffensperger (trying to get Zelensky to falsely admit to foreign election interference and "find dirt" on his opponent's son - Hunter Biden - in trade for continuing to provide missiles and monetary relief for Russia's assault; and of course with Raffensperger with finding the 11,789 [+1] missing votes required for Trump to win - via a gaslight/hoodwink). I'd like to remind everyone that Trumps rhetoric was so dangerous and divisive, that it wasn't Republicans via impeachment that held him accountable, but instead: FB/Meta, YouTube and Meta - by banning and censoring him for his hate/violence/lie-filled rhetoric.
However, since then, clearly when Mark Zuckerberg sat before congress on the Cambridge Analytica incident in late 2017 and stated "Facebook can do better... we will do better" - there was no intention. Clearly it's difficult (if not impossible) to moderate content on as dynamic of a social media platform like Facebook, where hundreds of thousands are posting per hour; but they do have the AI technology to enforce it. However, simultaneously - like in a repeat incident to Cambridge Analytica - Facebook allows for bots, integrations, etc. - which has resulted in the Russian bot-farming of the platform; with probably the worst disinformation being X.com (from transforming Twitter which was previously a slight bit more blue-leaning; into a red-leaning and hate and disinformation filled machine).
Then when Trump attempted to get SCOTUS to force USPS to enforce the voter rolls (which squarely contradicts the constitution's mandate on states' autonomy to administer and conduct elections autonomously - including their processes to check on voter eligibility), where things currently stand in terms of the illegally implemented "phantom SAVE Act":
In 25 states, the lawsuits over Trump's rogue-DOJ obtaining states' voter roll data has been dismissed, this includes - at time of writing:
- Washington
- Oregon
- California
- Nevada
- Arizona
- New Mexico
- Colorado
- Minnesota
- Wisconsin
- Michigan
- Illinois
- Kentucky
- West Virginia
- Virginia
- Georgia
- Mariland
- Pennsylvania
- New Jersey
- New York
- Connecticut
- Rode Island
- Massachusetts
- Vermont
- New Hampshire
- Maine
States that were sued for not providing complete voter lists to the federal government:
- Idaho
- Utah
- Hawaii
- Delaware
List of States that have provided complete voter rolls to federal government (for federalization of elections, which goes against the constitution):
- Alaska
- Montana
- Wyoming
- South Dakota
- Nebraska
- Iowa
- Oklahoma
- Texas
- Arkansas
- Louisiana
- Tennesse
- Mississippi
- Alabama
- Florida
- South Carolina
- Indiana
- Ohio
Presumably still undecided:
- North Dakota
- North Carolina

When Trump couldn't get SCOTUS to agree to utilizing USPS as a pawn in this process of enforcing the voter rolls, through a variety of means - which included under a "dangerous goods" provision, he will likely now intimidate elections officials. I also expect to see ICE Gustapo/DOJ Election Poll Watchers/Military; the illegally seized ballot from the 2020 elections to resurface; demands to "stop the vote" (when numbers are favorable on election day - if they ever are); Elon's gambits through this grift of X.com "helping users to vote" (more on that in a moment); keeping the Iran conflict alive (or starting a new existential conflict, including but not limited to initiating WWIII, or issuing a new bomb threat - realized or unrealized on Iran; Trump certainly has used language to prime on his fact.
Now back to whether the actions Elon engaged in were illegal, or not. So I asked AI:
Yes, misleading voters by claiming to assist with registration while only collecting their personally identifiable information (PII) can violate specific state and federal laws. While political data harvesting is generally legal when transparent, using deceptive practices to acquire that data has triggered intense regulatory scrutiny, state investigations, and civil lawsuits.
- The Legal Violations of Deceptive Registration Drives
If a political organization sets up a portal promising to submit voter registrations but fails to do so, it faces three main legal vulnerabilities:
• State Voter Preservation Statutes: Third-party voter registration organizations are subject to specific state-level laws regarding the handling and submission of voter registration applications. To verify the exact requirements, deadlines, and compliance rules for third-party groups in your area, consult your official state or local election authority resources.
• Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Practices: Promising a specific service ("helping you register") to induce users to hand over high-value PII (like cell numbers, exact addresses, and ages), and then failing to deliver that service, constitutes civil consumer fraud.
• Federal Civil Rights & Voter Suppression Laws: Intentionally misdirecting voters in competitive districts so they believe they are registered when they are not can be prosecuted as a form of illegal voter interference or suppression, as it actively prevents eligible citizens from casting a valid ballot. - State Investigations into America PAC's Early Methods
To learn more about the regulatory inquiries, website operations, and compliance resolutions involving Elon Musk's America PAC, please check reporting from verified news sources or visit official state portals like the North Carolina Board of Elections. For official registration information, always visit verified government websites like Vote.gov. - The Parallel to Government Data Controversies
The user's query connects this to government databases. The legal frameworks governing public political campaigns and internal government agency data are entirely separate:
• Campaigns rely on voluntary surrender or commercial data brokers. While they can be sued for using deceptive means to get you to click "submit," the data itself is private.
• Government Teams (like DOGE) are bound by strict criminal statutes like the Privacy Act of 1974. To verify the specifics of federal court cases, inter-agency agreements, or ongoing legal boundaries concerning federal voter databases and data sharing, please refer to official judicial filings and announcements from federal oversight authorities.
Bottom-line, to quote Bannon "flood the zone with shit" and one of Trump's more recent rallies "you gotta cheat like hell... like they do" (where he also suggested to his supporters that they vote by multiple-means, go gunk up and create the exact kind of fraud he needs so he can claim there is fraud, without ever going into the details - that he actually manufactured and engineered the fraud).
For a bit of good news though: Kansas appears to be turning blue; and in at least one Texas district - Republicans illegal, mid-decade redistricting and gerrymandering gambit - seems to have backfired (or not been enough to turn the tied).
I would encourage all of you to vote and vote ASAP. If turning in mail-in-ballots, do so at drop-off ballot boxes (typically they perform two pick-ups per day). Recreation centers, police stations are probably the safest and more tamper-resistant locations.
I do, totally expect two possibilities, either:
- Results that don't follow public sentiment for this administration and screwing over the everyday American, while gaslighting, taking away healthcare and social safety nets, increasing the national deficit, and a ruinous economy and job market - similar to what we saw with the results of 2024 (where they win every swing state; in which case, recounts are definitely in order and must be conducted independently and we as a people should push back on - especially with the discovery of these Russian bot farms and Trump's favoritism of Russia)
- Or we win and he claims rampant fraud and his resistence will never end... plus he's got the bunker.
