DOJ Warns Elon Musk That $1 Million Daily Voter Giveaway May Violate Federal Law -- Musk Continues Through Election Day

The Department of Justice's Public Integrity Section sent America PAC a letter warning that the $1M daily giveaway to registered swing-state voters who signed Musk's petition may violate 52 USC § 6111, which prohibits paying people to register to vote. Penalty: up to $10K fine and/or 5 years in prison. Musk ignored the warning and continued payouts through Election Day. On November 4, Musk's lawyer Chris Gober admitted in court that "the $1M recipients are not chosen by chance" -- they were pre-selected, vetted for pro-GOP social media presence, and met in person. Multiple class-action lawsuits followed alleging fraud and breach of contract.
