Trump Signs Executive Order Reinvigorating Beautiful Clean Coal Industry
President Trump signed Executive Order 14261 designating coal as a mineral under the National Energy Dominance Council, directing agencies to lift barriers to coal mining on federal lands, ending the Jewell Moratorium on federal coal leasing, and ordering EPA, DOT, Interior, Energy, Labor, and Treasury to identify and rescind any regulations that discourage coal production or electricity generation. The order also directed the State Department and DOE to boost coal exports and explore using coal to power AI data centers. Trump stated: We must increase domestic energy production, including coal.
