US Imposes Sanctions on 44 Individuals and Entities Supporting Iran's Nuclear Program and Weapons Procurement (2025-10-01)
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announces sanctions on 44 individuals and entities involved in Iran's nuclear program, ballistic missile development, and weapons procurement networks. The designations target Iran's Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND) — the direct successor to Iran's pre-2004 nuclear weapon program — as well as entities attempting to procure sensitive dual-use technologies applicable to nuclear weapons development. The Treasury and State Department actions are taken pursuant to Executive Order 13382, supporting the UN snapback mechanism that took effect September 27.
