Epstein COVER-UP EXPLODES as Judge Gets SECRET Files DOJ Doesn’t Want You to See...
Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian examine two fronts in the Jeffrey Epstein fallout ahead of the November midterms. First, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Robert Garcia, with Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, introduced the Epstein Wall Street Records Act, which would require the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC and SEC to release supervisory records about Epstein and his associates, investigate the banks and executives involved, and potentially fine, bar or refer them for prosecution. JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Deutsche Bank have agreed to pay more than $437 million to settle class actions brought by Epstein’s victims without admitting fault, and Deutsche Bank alone has paid a regulatory penalty, $150 million to New York’s financial regulator in 2020. Reporting says the bill is unlikely to pass this year, and the hosts predict Trump would call it a witch hunt and veto it if Democrats won Congress, with Brian arguing he becomes more “untethered” after the midterms. Second, the hosts discuss the lawsuit by journalist and MeidasTouch contributor Katie Phang, represented by the Public Integrity Project, alleging the Justice Department violated the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the Administrative Procedure Act and the Declaratory Judgment Act by missing release deadlines and over-redacting records. U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan granted a preliminary injunction in June, finding the government had effectively conceded it was violating the Act, and the Justice Department has since had to submit redacted records and its justifications to the judge privately. The government has now told the court it complied in full. Brian does not believe it, and both hosts expect the fight to run past Election Day. Brian’s bottom line: whatever the Justice Department says about compliance, only a judge reading the unredacted records can tell the public whether the redactions protect victims or protect the powerful. Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian cover the latest MAGA infighting: a May 3, 2025 text, reported by Axios, in which Ric Grenell, then leading the Kennedy Center and later a Trump special envoy, allegedly offered Turkish businessman Turhan Mildon access to “POTUS” and administration officials in exchange for money. Mildon is the new husband of Alina Habba, the former acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey. According to Axios, Mildon says he wired $17.6 million to Texas Armament & Technology at Grenell’s direction, with about $5.6 million meant for the Kennedy Center, but Kennedy Center records reportedly show only a $270,000 pledge, which was paid in October. Habba reportedly confronted Trump in the Oval Office on October 9, and White House Counsel Will Scharf is investigating, including whether the text is authentic. Grenell denies sending it, calls the allegations “absurd,” and says he never received money from Mildon. A White House official told Axios the wire came from the Congo’s finance ministry rather than Mildon’s own account, and the reporting leaves unclear what the Congo contract involved. The hosts stress that they have not verified the text, are not accusing anyone of money laundering, and note that Habba’s own complaint could suggest her husband was seeking access. Shant points out that Grenell was a government official at the time, which would make any pay-to-play arrangement far more serious, and Brian asks whether Habba, who is not a registered foreign lobbyist, pressed the president on her husband’s Venezuela business interests. They also connect the story to Katie Zacharia, whose LinkedIn lists her as general counsel of Grenell’s Fix California. Brian’s bottom line: whether or not the text is real, selling access to the president is exactly what ethics and bribery laws exist to stop.
