Giuliani Admitted Trump Team Had No Evidence

Rudy Giuliani admits the Trump team had "no evidence" for their election fraud claims — after months of claiming they had mountains of proof. The admission emerges through multiple sworn testimonies before the January 6 committee:

Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers (R) testified under oath that Giuliani called him in late November 2020 asking to convene a hearing about election fraud. When Bowers repeatedly asked Giuliani for evidence of the fraud claims, Giuliani could never produce it — "not during the call, after the call, or to this day, never." Bowers testified: "There was no evidence being presented of any strength." When Giuliani pushed Bowers to remove Biden electors and replace them with Trump electors, citing a "legal theory" from an unnamed high-ranking Republican, Bowers refused, telling Giuliani: "You are asking me to do something that is counter to my oath when I swore to the constitution to uphold it. I also swore to the constitution and the laws of the state of Arizona. This is totally foreign as an idea or a theory to me. I would never do anything of such magnitude without deep consultation with qualified attorneys. But you are asking me to do something against my oath, and I will not break my oath."

Giuliani's own attorney in the Pennsylvania election challenge, Marc Scaringi, admitted in federal court that the Trump campaign's fraud claims were "not a fraud case" and that they did not allege "widespread fraud." Meanwhile, Giuliani continued publicly claiming "mountains of evidence" — a direct contradiction with his own counsel's sworn court filings.

Former Attorney General Bill Barr testified separately that Trump started making fraud claims "immediately" after the election and that Barr concluded they were "completely bogus and silly, usually based on complete misinformation." Despite winning zero evidence in court across 60+ lawsuits, the Trump campaign used the lack of evidence as the basis for a pressure campaign on state officials, culminating in the fake elector scheme and the January 6 attack.
