DHS Built Palantir Surveillance Database of Protester Photos — Dossiers on Dissenters
A partially unsealed court filing alleged that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) built up dossiers on protesters and created a surveillance database using Palantir technology, dumping protester photos and personal information into the system. ICE agents have been feeding the database with photos of protesters, creating a surveillance apparatus targeting political dissent. This represents the merger of the immigration enforcement apparatus with political surveillance — the same infrastructure built for tracking immigrants is now being used to track political opponents and protesters. The Palantir connection is particularly significant given Peter Thiel's role in both Palantir and the Trump administration, and the company's existing contracts with ICE for data analytics.
