Understanding Your K-Score

Your K-Score (truth index) is a 0-100 measure of your trustworthiness on UnderKurrent. It functions similarly to PageRank -- the algorithm Google used to rank web pages -- but applied to people.

What Affects Your K-Score

- Endorsements -- When other users endorse you for specific topics, your K-Score in those areas increases.
- Karma on posts -- Consistently producing content that the community upvotes increases your K-Score.
- Longevity -- Long-standing accounts with consistent positive contributions naturally develop higher K-Scores.
- Moderation actions -- Posts that are flagged, removed, or receive many downvotes will decrease your K-Score.

What the K-Score Actually Measures

Your K-Score is not a measure of popularity. It's a measure of trust calibration by the community. A user who posts well-sourced, accurate information in their area of expertise will have a high K-Score. A user who posts frequently but inaccurately will have a lower one.

How to Improve Your K-Score

1. Post accurate, well-sourced content
2. Engage constructively in discussions
3. Earn endorsements from trusted users
4. Report meaningful events to the Kronology timeline
5. Avoid posting misinformation or unsubstantiated claims

We believe this creates healthier incentives than the traditional "more followers = more power" model.
